What is Baptism?

Baptism in the Catholic Church is a sacrament symbolizing initiation into the Christian faith. It involves the use of water, typically performed on individuals of all ages, to cleanse them from original sin and personal sins. Baptism marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith and membership in the Church, with the support of godparents for infants. It is a fundamental step towards salvation and living a Christian life.
