The VIRTUS® program is a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster environments where children and vulnerable adults are safe from abuse. Our comprehensive training modules are developed with the expertise of child safety professionals, psychologists, and law enforcement officials to provide the most effective abuse prevention education available today.
Who Should Attend?
The VIRTUS® training is mandatory for all employees and volunteers working within environments where children and vulnerable adults are present. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Educational institutions
- Religious organizations
- Recreational programs
- Healthcare facilities
Our program is tailored to ensure that anyone entrusted with the care, education, or supervision of children and vulnerable individuals understands their role in safeguarding their welfare.

To see available training sessions within your Diocese, visit www.virtusonline.org and select "First-Time Registrant" and then "View a list of sessions" and then search for "Wichita, KS (Diocese)". You can attend any session within the Diocese and are not required to obtain the training only from St. Mary Parish. However, if you are not able to attend any of the available sessions due to distance or timing, please complete the "Request a Session" form or reach out to Jerrod Ketchersid, Director of Religious Education to schedule a session.
