St. Mary’s Mother of Young Children (MOYC) is a ministry for mothers with children kindergarten and younger and mothers to be in and around Derby. Our goal is to create an atmosphere to develop friendships and support within our parish, to offer guidance for mothers, and to foster Christian values in our children and Catholic traditions in our families.

MOYC holds mostly free events monthly from August through May, typically free babysitting is available. MOYC participates in many of St. Mary’s parish events throughout the year and MOYC host the Valentine’s Day Gala in February. Community is critical for moms, especially young moms, whose care for young children can often, by its very nature, be isolating. MOYC events provide mothers a little time off from the daily joys and struggles of motherhood while providing an opportunity to connect with other mothers in similar stages in life. For expecting mothers, MOYC sets up meal trains to help make the transition of adding a child into the family a little easier.
